Citizens of 意大利 enjoy visa-free access to Vietnam for up to 45 days for tourism purposes. This exemption was most recently extended and is valid through 2028. No prior application is needed — simply arrive with a valid passport that has at least 6 months of remaining validity and at least 2 blank pages.

For stays longer than 45 days, or for non-tourism purposes such as business, work, or study, you will need to obtain a visa. The most convenient option is the e-visa, which is available to all nationalities and allows stays of up to 90 days with single or multiple entries.

Vietnam has been actively expanding its visa-free policies to boost tourism. As of 2025, the country has also increased e-visa validity from 30 to 90 days and expanded the number of entry points accepting e-visas from 42 to 83, including airports, land borders, and seaports.
